Long before the notable Author Agatha Cristine wrote her book "Evil Under The Sun" the Bible had informed us about evil that happens under the sun.
Evil Under The Sun much like many of Agatha Christie's books was a best seller.
The Bible passage from Ecclesiastes 6 verses 1, 2 inspired her book title.
Agatha Christie is widely considered the best selling novelist in history.
Without a doubt a lot of successful people have drawn inspiration from the Bible and the Bible has inspired a lot of successful people.
King Solomon is believed to be the author of the book of Ecclesiastes in scripture.
King Solomon is also believed to be the wisest man who ever lived, outside of Jesus Christ of course.
King Solomon said "There is an evil which I have seen under the sun, and it is common among men: A man to whom God has given riches and wealth and honor, so that he lacks nothing for himself of all he desires; yet God does not give him power to eat of it, but a foreigner consumes it. This is vanity, and it is an evil affliction."
It is a tragedy for an individual God has blessed not to enjoy what has been allocated to him.
That is what the Bible passage is telling us.
It is called an evil under the sun.
It is not God's will that a foreigner should consume what is yours, that another should enjoy what you have labored for, it is an evil under the sun.
In Ecclesiastes 10 verses 5-7 king Solomon talks about an evil reversal that can happen in the lives of men which is common under then sun
It is tragic to know that many people are not manifesting what God has put in their lives.
Such people have experienced an evil reversal of their fortunes and destiny.
"There is an evil I have seen under the sun,
As an error proceeding from the ruler:
6 Folly is set in great dignity,
While the rich sit in a lowly place.
7 I have seen servants on horses,
While princes walk on the ground like servants"
It is not everything happening under the sun that is God's will.
God's will is something that you must pray for and be intentional about it doesn't always happen automatically.
God's will has to be enforced and fought for.
God's will is good, God wills good things for us.
When a prince is walking and a servant is riding on horses, something has gone wrong.
King Solomon called it an error.
An error God didn't make, arrange or intend; but in this imperfect world things can go wrong.
Things go wrong because we have imperfect people who live in an imperfect world all around us and that affects us too, in some way or the other.
We also have evil spirits at work in the earth and they use people, unfortunately.
As people journey though this world things can go wrong, it can start in the womb, at birth, or at a certain or various stages of our lives.
There are people destined to live as kings and princes who are living like slaves or paupers.
This is not right.
The will of God is that our original destiny manifests!
We also have people who are living in and enjoying what God has not given to them.
They are spiritual manipulators who sabotage the good in other people's lives because they are not happy with their own lives.
Such people never end up fulfilled.
There is injustice in this world, its this injustice king Solomon calls an error and an evil under the sun.
God is the one One who avenges injustice and corrects error.
He can and will take care of the evil that has happened to us under the sun.
We should hand them over to Him.
God can fix it.
That is our encouragement.
In the presence of God error is corrected.
In the presence of God what has gone wrong begins to go right.
In the presence of God what has been tampered with can be repaired and restored.
