Earn your wings

The Air force is an interesting arm of the armed forces.
Associated with the air and skies, the skill with which experienced and creative fighter jet pilots maneuver their planes in the sky is a true sight to behold.
Wings are the symbol of the air force, two wings with a star.
In the air force there are qualification badges that are earned through training.
These qualification badges are called wings.

The armed forces represents one of the realms God has given man/humanity power over.
Man was given power over the marine (aquatic) realm, terrestrial (land) realm, and the air (sky) realm.

"And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth".

The air force is evident of the power and dominion given to man over the air.
The air force and aviation industry is evidence of air power granted to man to dominate the skies.
Like the other armed forces, the air force has ranks for their officials- from Second Lieutenant all the way up to the Air Force Chief of Staff.

As it is in the natural so it is in spirit.
There are ranks in the kingdom of God.
As wings are earned in the air force we can earn our wings in God, in His kingdom.
To earn wings in the air force you have to complete a significant stage of fly training after initial officer training.

In the kingdom of God we earn our wings.
We earn our wings through obedience.
We earn our wings by waiting.
Waiting is part of our training.
Waiting qualifies us.

We don't wait in vain, waiting time is never wasted time.
We wait on our Lord, our Master, our Instructor.
We earn our wings by waiting on God, in waiting on God we are strengthened.
Then we can walk and not be weary, we can run and not faint, and we mount up with wings like eagles to perform exploits!
We become a part of God's force.

The Cost Of Freedom

Freedom comes with a price.

Freedom is not exactly free.
Freedom is not always easy to achieve or experience, ask Nelson Mandela.
He fought to free his country from apartheid and paid the price for freedom by spending twenty seven years in prison.

Prior to that he participated in years of planning, meetings, speeches, boycotts, responsible resistance and defying of the powers that be in his country as part of effective activism.

On the 11th February 1990 he walked out of Robben island where he was imprisoned.
Free to go home to his wife Winnie, free to see their four children, and their grand children who were born when he was in prison.

As we know, Nelson Mandela went on to become President of his country South Africa.
Well deserved.
He enjoyed the fruit of his freedom.
Your freedom is worth fighting for.
A price was paid for your freedom.
You can be free..

Fight to receive your freedom.
"For this reason was the son of God made manifest that He might destroy the works of Satan"
Satan wants us bound, he is our arch enemy.
We don't have to remain under the enemy's influence and bondage.
Jesus the Christ paid for your freedom with his own life/blood!
Be blessed!

The Brave & The Free

Popularly referred to as the land of the free and home of the brave, the early fathers of the United States of America knew and understood the link between Freedom and Bravery.

Their perspective which has become a part of American culture and pride is in line with the thoughts of the Roman poet Virgil who said "fortune favors the bold"
Freedom is not an attainment for the faint hearted or weak of mind.
Slaves who get comfortable in their chains don't rise up against their oppressors or fight for freedom.
It is those who are brave and bold who attain freedom.

Jesus the Christ was bold and brave, the great Lion of the tribe of Judah who purchased the rights for us to be free.
Do you want to be free?
You must dislike the chains that hold you bound, you must refuse to settle for your present state, you must rise up and fight for freedom.
To seek freedom is to seek something better.
To seek freedom is also to hold out and hold on for something better.
Freedom is that which is better, and God has something better for you!

There are higher heights and new glories to experience.
They are worth fighting for.
There is always more in God.
So fight this fight of faith we must, it is the valid, credible way to go.

Be brave today.
Be bold today.
Now is the time, this is the hour, for faith is now.
It is courage that counts, its not too late.
Be bold, be brave, be free!

The Cause For Freedom

In the movie GLADIATOR directed by Ridley Scott the lead character General Maximus Decimus Meridius played by Russell Crowe wasn't asking for much, all he wanted was a simple life- he wanted to farm, be a father to his son and a loving husband to his dear wife.

He had served his king and nation faithfully leading their troops into many battles and being victorious, loved and well respected.
You would think he had done enough to live the peaceful and simple life he craved but life's complications wouldn't let it be.
Great men are often envied and betrayed.
His story is similar to the character played by Mel Gibson in the move Brave Heart- William Wallace.

Maximus Decimus Meridius and William Wallace both found themselves fighting for freedom despite wanting the easier and less complicated things in life.
All William Wallace wanted was a family of his own and land to farm on.
It wasn't meant to be sadly.

Men of great destinies chosen for greater causes and purposes often find themselves thrust into missions they didn't bargain for.
Their path is a sacrificial one often for the greater good.
Like Joseph of the old testament who was raised up for the economic and and material preservation of God's people and the nations of the known world at that time, he faced betrayal and setbacks in life which were actually setups for him to fulfill his destiny.
Joseph's wisdom was for the benefit of many, a destiny to preserve and free God's nation from drought and famine.

Joseph sought to be free from imprisonment.
William Wallace sought to be free from oppression.
Maximus Decimus wanted to be free to return to his family.
All three men sought and fought for freedom in different ways.

Something is wrong with the individual who doesn't desire to be free in a positive sense.
The desire to be free is an innate human thing, we instinctively know we are not created to be bound and tied down.
Freedom is part of your right and inheritance.
And Jesus Christ paid the highest price for your freedom.

Your Wings, Your Freedom

Revelation 12:14

Wings help us get to where we want to get to.

Wings give us ability.

Wings give us flight, speed, and movement.

Wings bring progress.

Wings also bring protection.

The parent eagle uses her wings to protect and also train her eaglets.

The mother hen uses her wings to protect her chicks.

That is how God protects us under His wings.

Psalm 91:4

God desires to give 'wings' to His children- spiritual wings that adds value to our lives and make us more effective.

These wings are a kingdom benefit, exclusively for those in His kingdom.

They are spiritual wings that enable us to get to where God has prepared for us.

Wings represent freedom.

Wings help animals like birds escape predators

Spiritual wings make a way of escape for us , a way of escape from spiritual predators and their human agents.

Wings help us enjoy freedom, just like free birds in the air.

In Revelation 12 we read the story of a glorious woman who is a sign.

Another sign appears- a red dragon (the enemy) who pursues and tries to take out the woman.

The glorious woman symbolizes God's chosen people or the church.

The second sign is a red dragon who is Satan the enemy.

The child the woman was to deliver represents that which we are to 'birth' in this world.

The child of the glorious woman is symbolic of our testimonies, our miracles, our blessings, our destiny, assignments, ministries, callings and all we are meant to birth in this world as given to us by God.

Just like the glorious woman of Revelation 12, the enemy has been harassing, hounding, and persecuting the people of God, the chosen of God.

He, tries to steal, kill and destroy that which God has given to us.

As the child of the glorious woman was preserved by being caught up to heaven (God's presence) to protect him from the enemy, God can preserve all He has given to us.

Revelation 12:5

Receiving wings from God starts with waiting on God.

Isaiah 40:31

The glorious woman escaped the chase and attack of the enemy with the help of the two wings God gave her.

Revelation 12:14

She escaped the enemy's flood because God spoke to the earth to help her.

Revelation 12:16

God can help you, He is our present help in time of need.

Psalm 46:1

May God give you wings to escape the enemy always.

May God give you wings to soar off into your freedom and inheritance.

Everything God does He does in light.

1 John 1:5

May God give you wings for freedom, wings of light!
