Super Ted was a popular cartoon from the 80's, its a program that went on for three seasons- 1983-1986.
I remember watching most of the episodes back in the days and I have even introduced the show to my children
Super Ted was a discarded teddy bear in the toy factory where he was made, he was "thrown away like a piece of rubbish"
Super Ted was an underdog who didn't stand a chance.
I see spiritual lessons and parallels in the Super Ted story and how God changes the fortunes of people.
I've always believed God is a God of the underdog in the sense that He is a God who gives the underdog a chance. A lot of kingdom citizens- citizens of God's kingdom, are people who were underdogs in some way or the other.
Study your heroes of the Bible including Jesus Christ Himself.
The good Book says "Just look at your own calling, believers; not many [of you were considered] wise according to human standards, not many powerful or influential, not many of high and noble birth
But God has selected [for His purpose] the foolish things of the world to shame the wise [revealing their ignorance], and God has selected [for His purpose] the weak things of the world to shame the things which are strong [revealing their frailty"
Like Super Ted, many of the Lord's people didn't stand a chance, some were 'discarded' and despised in life.
Like Super Ted, , many of God's people had been counted out.
Many of them had been forgotten and forsaken by men.
Thank God, He is not like men in terms of His perspectives and decisions!
He is a merciful God who gives hope to the hopeless and "raises the beggar from the dunghill to give them a place among princes"
Even our Lord and Savior was forgotten and forsaken in a tomb, He was despised by His followers leaving only John his disciple and his mother around when He was going through His worst moment at calvary!
But something happened!
Jesus rose from the grave!
As a result hope and good will was extended to men.
Just like the Super Ted story, there can be a change of fortunes for you!
As the resurrection changed the narrative of the Jesus story, life and eternity for the better so can your life change for the better!
With Super Ted, he was located by "a spotted cosmic man" who favored him, took him from the trash heap and became his long term friend and side kick- Spotty.
Spotty brought Super Ted to life by sprinkling "cosmic dust" on him.
Spotty then took Super Ted to a realm in the skies where "mother nature gave him a potion to drink which enhanced him with super powers making him a super hero.
Spotty was a destiny helper to the teddy bear that was thrown away.
Spotty brought hope and life to the lifeless teddy bear.
Spotty gave an identity and empowerment to a teddy bear that was meant to be done away with for good.
That is the Super Ted story!
A story of something good coming out of a bad situation
A fictional, imaginative, positive and interesting story.
In the Christian circles it is not strange to hear people pray for destiny helpers.
A destiny helper is what Spotty the spotted man from out of space was to Super Ted.
Someone assigned by the Lord to help you, support you, believe in you and see the good in you that others don't.
A destiny helper is someone who wants things to go well for you and will do what they can to see you become the best you can be.
We all need people like that in our lives.
In fact they are essential.
Like the Super Ted story your life story can become interesting, positive and full of hope.
As Super Ted was sent a friend in his time of need who walked with him through life, and helped make his life extraordinary; God can do the same for you by sending destiny helpers into your life!
More important, God Himself wants to be your destiny helper.
He wants to journey with you all your days through His Spirit, even His Holy Spirit.
The Holy Spirit is the helper, comforter and advocate of the believer.
He is our closest friend who lives with us, within us, and walks beside us.
A Spotty was from out of space, the Holy Spirit is from God, from the Spirit realm.
As Spotty empowered Super Ted, the Holy Spirit empowers us for exploits, progress, success, soul winning and He develops fruits in us.
He gives us supernatural gifts!
What Spotty is to Super Ted is what the Holy Spirit is to us and much more!
What Spotty did for Super Ted the Holy Spirit does for us and even much more!
When the oil and Spirit of God locates you, your fortunes will change for the better.
