My view on the King's Speech.
I was out yesterday night to see this film at the cinema, i think its really good and has a very positive message. Colin Firth is a good actor and i think he really pulled off the part of the stammerer. Helena Bonham Carter also played her part well; doing what she does best. It's a film those who stammer can identify with knowing that there is hope and that they can overcome their struggle with a bit of help and a willingness to try. Beyond the challenge of stammering i think there is a message in the film for everyone.
What i gained from the movie is that no one is perfect, we all have our areas of struggle, even the rich and powerful! And beneath the struggle most of us have, there is greatness waiting for us if only we will not give up.
The King's speech consultant in the movie is also a great personality, a man who wouldn't give up on his client, and a man who wouldn't give up on himself. He had no qualifications but he was doing what he knew best, using his gift to help humanity. And one day the future King became his client, his breakthrough!
The movie also drove home the fact that nobody is an island unto himself, we all need good and positive people around us who believe in us. For Colin Firth, in this movie it is his good wife and also the speech consultant who became his friend.
What about you, do you recognise the true friends around you?

An Excerpt from My forthcoming book!
It was a dispensation in that part of eternity set apart for the use of man that savage forces had been deployed from that dark realm beyond human reach. Their target was the great continent .
For too long the great continent had been bound, dishonoured and oppressed. It is that great land of many countries from that angle where the sun rises called Africa.
The discerning, those that 'see', and star gazers could sense an unusual happening in the skies above them and a feeling of euphoria on the earth on which they stand. A great portal had opened in heaven which signifies the birth of one which was to be great in the earth, one who was to be a hero and a deliverer to his people for in every generation it was the purpose of the Divine also know as Three to raise deliverers to the oppressed nations.
As the forces that take on flesh from the dark realm- known as horns, nephilim and apollyon continued to criss cross the great continent they were oblivious to the plan of the Divine known as Three to deliver the great continent. Only those washed in royal blood called the sons of the covenant are immune from their works. The dark realm never know what Three is doing.
In the western part of African, on that great land where the Niger and River Benue rivers flow and meet together forming a confluence Olaniyi Benjamin choosen by Three to be washed in royal blood was to be born.

Mental Empowerment

The mind is one of the greatest gifts the creator has given to man. Our mind is one of the major gifts we have been given that distinguishes us from every other animal or creation. For it's with the mind we have personalities, abilities and potential, our minds make us sane, our minds help us to see, gesture and do things. Its with our minds that we meditate, visualise and imagine. Our progress is directly linked with the health and development of our mental faculties. This is why we have a responsibility to look after minds and see to its proper development.
Our mental development should have a lot to do with our age, as we grow older we should grow wiser and more mature. It is also possible for an individual to be mentally developed way beyond his age, for some are mature at 17 and some others immature at 70.
Maturity is a state of the mind.
There is a lot we can do to see to it that are minds are healthy, our minds are like computers (the human mind has more potential than any computer) and in the same way we watch over our PC's we have to watch over our brains too. We do our best possible to see to it that our PC's are protected from viruses, it should be the same way with our brains. We have to be careful what we allow into it, be careful what you feed your brain.
There are 'gates' or 'door ways' to the brain. Our eyes, our ears, our noses and our mouths. The eyes are the most powerful door way to the brain, the things we look at and the things we constantly view become energy to the brain, which eventually sticks in the brain. What you watch could either be beneficially to your brain or act as a virus to you brain.
Other ways of developing the brain are reading, using our imaginative capacity (unfortunately many people let this die with their childhood), meditation (this is very potent becuase the brain learns and receives by saturation) and mental games like word puzzles, sudoku and chess.
The creator in his infinite love for us is not left out in his care for our brains/minds. He has given us His Spirit. The Spirit God is also a Spirit of the mind, for He brings ''all things to our remembrance''. The ability to remember is of the mind. God's Spirit brings our minds alive. In scripture He is explained as the spirit of counsel, knowledge, wisdom, understanding and fear of the Lord. All these have to do with the mind for its in the mind that wisdom and other qualities listed reside.
''God wishes that we should be in health and prosper even as our souls prosper''. The mind/brain is of the soul. For our souls are made up of our will, our minds and our emotions. So Gods Spirit comforts, encourages and brings remembrance to our minds, Gods Spirit touches our memory for the better.
It's time to be mentally empowered.

When The Storm Comes.
It's either you're just coming out of a storm or you are about to get into one, they seem programmed into life.
We all face storms of life, storms of life are the expected but most times unexpected challenges that show up in our lives when we least expect it.
What makes the difference between people is how we go through the storm, our attitude to the storm and our attitude in the storm,.
Our perspective is very important when it comes to overcoming the storms of life.
Some see the storm as an opportunity to rise to greater heights, for some others they see the storm as the end of all they have labored for or achieved.
The eagle is like the former, there is a lot we can learn from this marvelous champion of the sky.
I am fascinated by the eagle.
When the storm comes in the direction of the eagle, the eagle 'smiles' stretches out its wings and uses the currents of the wind to rise above the storm unhurt.
This should be the attitude of every man to those challenging situations of life. Difficulties do not come to break us but to make us.
The eagle is a bird associated with many great qualities- speed, courage, vision, high altitude, fearlessness, gentleness and strength.
The eagle is a bird associated with many great qualities- speed, courage, vision, high altitude, fearlessness, gentleness and strength.
Of all these qualities it's ability of vision is perhaps the most important, the eagles vision is what's responsible for its sense of direction, orientation and perspective.
Because the eagle has an ability to see from a very far distance it survives better than other birds, it sees what they do not see and is able to scheme faster to catch it's prey.
The eagle is the only bird that can look at the sun directly, and the only bird that has a positive outlook to the storm, so naturally it rises higher than other birds and is a better survivor.
This is because it sees differently from other birds, that's the power of vision!
Are you an 'eagle' ?
Are you an 'eagle' ?
Be like the eagle today.

The Genius of Charlie Chaplin.
I watched a Charlie Chaplin movie recently, it was a DVD with a collection of some of his works. I enjoyed it. I hadn't watched a Charlie Chaplin movie in years, i used to watch his films as a kid but its now as a more mature person that i understand what all the 'hype' about Charlie Chaplin was all about. In his lifetime he was one of the most recognizable people on earth. The guy is a pure genius, he has a remarkable ability to be someone else totally different from who he really is when he was in front of a camera. He was a maverick.
The ability to make people laugh just by your funny gestures, actions and facial expressions is a great gift. We need more Charlie Chaplains in the world today because we all need to laugh more.''Laughter doeth good like medicine'', life has a way of making us take ourselves too seriously a times.
Charlie Chaplain made many people the world over laugh. That was his contribution to the world, that was his legacy. May it continue!
I salute this comedy giant, he lives on.

BALANCE - the way to life.
Time management is life management, manage your time well and you have managed your life well.
Time flies, it rather unfortunate its when we are older that we realize the days go quick.
We won't always have time for every single thing we want to do in life that's why we should focus on the essentials of life.
I liken life to students in an exam hall, they are timed.
They have to use their time well and efficiently to answer all the questions presented to them or at least to focus on the essentials (the questions that gives higher scores) which will give them the higher marks.
In a similar way our life is timed, ''there is a time for everything''.
That's why we have lifespans and times and seasons, we are creatures relegated to time.
We should focus on the things that really matter in life so that when our time on earth is over, it can be said and seen of us that we focused on the issues that gave us the 'best scores' in our life's journey.
Our life is simply what we have done with the time we have been given.
The pertinent question is, how do we make the most of our time/life?
It's by living a life of balance.
This means proper time management, spending our lives daily for the benefit of humanity and for our own personal development.
It's by knowing what the essentials of life are, and focusing on them first.
It's by knowing what the essentials of life are, and focusing on them first.
For me they are my relationship with God, my health, family, career and service to humanity which is my life's assignment.
I feel other issues of life follow after these.
What are your priorities?
