Higher Ground

You are on higher ground.

A call to a higher ground is evidence God has called you to something better.

Those in a relationship with God and walking the narrow way of faith are called to something higher.

We are called to higher ground.

John the beloved Apostle of Jesus Christ was asked to come up higher spiritually.

In rising higher he experienced, saw, and heard more. More clearly.

To be on higher ground in a spiritual sense, refers to a closer relationship with God than others or most people.

It is to be called to something better, higher, more effective, and more successful.

Higher ground has a lot to do with your calling and purpose, it is a calling to higher spiritual offices and assignments.

The Apostle Paul called it a high calling.

Higher ground refers to your positioning, where you are placed, called to, and also attain in a sense.

Higher ground is the place of right perspectives, from the higher ground you get a better view.

Higher ground is the ground of advantage, it puts you at an advantage.

In warfare, the soldiers flying in fighter jets are at an advantage over foot soldiers.

That which flies is usually faster than that which walks or runs.

An animal which is on the ground cannot catch or hunt an eagle that is flying in the air, because the eagle is more highly positioned by reason of flight.

Higher ground is our place of safety, it is our place of refuge, it is position of strength and advantage.

In Christ we are on higher ground because "we are seated with Him in heavenly places"

In Christ we are on higher ground because we are in Him at the right hand side of the Father spiritually.

In Christ we are on higher ground because of His name, "the name of the Lord is a strong tower, the righteous run into it and they are saved"

In Christ we are on higher ground because we are "in the rock of ages" where we have elevation, and protection.

In Christ we are on higher ground because we have the Spirit, and the Spirit of Truth puts us at an advantage- "but very truly I tell you, it is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Advocate will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you"

In Christ we are on higher ground because He lifts us up- "Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him on highbecause he has known My name."

A major key to getting to higher ground and remaining on higher ground is to drop the weights.

A hiker who is trying to climb a mountain will do well to let go of unnecessary baggage and loads that will weigh him down as he climbs.

That is what a wise mountain climber will do, the lighter he is the better.

To get to higher ground, to achieve that feat, he must be willing to let go of whatever is stopping him.

In the same manner, things stopping us; the weights of life like the unhealthy hold of the past, sin, procrastination, fear, and low self esteem must be dropped that we may rise higher and go further.

There is a beautiful hymn titled "Higher Ground" which is also referred to by its opening line "I'm pressing on the upward way" written by Johnson Oatman Jnr in 1892.

Though its not the inspiration for this writing, it is a beautiful hymn worth meditating on.

Lord set our feet on higher ground!

Amen!

To get to higher ground is to attain, to achieve, perform an exploit, to ascend.
